mommasexperience

My dear sweet momma has developed a brain tumor--specifically a glioblastoma multiforme. This is an update of all of the details of her treatments and her recovery. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and concern. My new favorite quote: "Humans are like tea bags, you have to put them in hot water before you know how strong they are."

Wednesday 1/11 Update

Momma had a good day yesterday. When I got home from work, she was pretty alert and was answering questions by nodding or shaking her head, which she was not doing earlier in the week. On Sunday, it seemed she could not see or hear us but last night, she certainly could and was very responsive. It felt so good to be able to tell her so many things and know that she was hearing them. She is still squeezing hands and arms and whatever else she can get a hold of; I almost lost a chunk of hair again this morning when I left for work!!! Thanks for all your prayers and please continue to think of her... these good days are so very precious now.

Sunday January 8th Update

Momma is awake and knows that we are here with her. While she is not eating or talking, she knows that we are here and will hold on to our hand with more strength than you can imagine. Lots of love and prayers are with her.

We are at home

Momma has not wanted to be in the hospital and has not wanted to do the radiation so Daddy, along with Neall and I, decided to bring her home. We got home about 1 this afternoon. After talking with all of her doctors last night, we decided that there really is not much improvement we could receive there so it is much more important for her to comfortable. Please continue to pray for her.

Tuesday 1/4 Update

They started the radiation yesterday and Spunky (oh yes, momma has become quite fiesty lately!) did not like that at all. My understanding is that yesterday took so much longer since it was the first time and they had to get everything just right. I think it took several hours where in the future, it will only take ten minutes or so. But, she did okay during the process and didn't seem to have any side effects so we are excited to see the results.

Hope you all have a great day and again, thanks for all your prayers.
