mommasexperience

My dear sweet momma has developed a brain tumor--specifically a glioblastoma multiforme. This is an update of all of the details of her treatments and her recovery. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and concern. My new favorite quote: "Humans are like tea bags, you have to put them in hot water before you know how strong they are."

Sunday 12/18 Update

When I arrived Friday night, Daddy had gotten a call that his mother (who is in a nursing home in Lonoke, AR) had taken ill and might have pneumonia. Momma does very well as long as she remains calm but of course this news upset her so she was a little distracted all night. Daddy had planned on going to Lonoke Saturday anyway to tell grandma about momma but when he saw her he only said that she had had an operation. Turns out that grandma has a really bad cold and should be recovering soon. While daddy was gone Saturday, we spent all morning getting momma fixed up. By the time daddy returned, we had freshly cleaned hair and make-up on. We put a scarf on her head and we joked about this was going to be her Cher impersonation period. We got some stuff done around the house and cleaned out some closets and had a really good day. I did manage to get her out of the house to ride with me to get my car washed. I had hoped that after we were in the car, we could stop by someone's house or something but that didn't happen. At least we did get out of the house, so that was a step in the right direction...
